A songwriter to be?

Tunca's latest songwriting adventure yielded to this:

the name of the song is some things changed
some things changed
everything changed
i changed
my brother changed, too
don't forget
the world changed
our family changed
therefore
the whole world changed.

Şarkının adı Bir Şeyler değişti
bir şeyler değişti
her şey değişti
ben değiştim
abim de değişti
unutmayın ki
dünya değişti
ailemiz değişti
ki
bütün dünya değişti

I don't even want to think about what prompted him to write these. I am hoping that the whole "change" theme was used in a positive way, he insists that "this just popped into his mind" and he "totally made it up."
I don't have a scanner so I just took a photo of it so it's all upside down and left to right but it'll give those of you who know Turkish an idea...

His spelling is great for a 5.5 year old, I think. But I'm biased that way because I also think that he's super cool.

ps.: I backed up. I also have a .mac account which was supposed to sync with my computer but for some reason did not before the horrible crash.

Muse

My post about my distractions included a reference (and the video clip) to Muse's Knights of Cydonia.

I am listening to Muscle Museum, finally, after writing down a few sentences of the lyrics on the radio today (because it would just kill İstanbul's K Rock 94.5 to bring back the "name of the song/performer" gizmo back online for car radios, right?). And I love it.

Since YouTube is still banned in Turkey, I can't give a link to the clip, but do look it up and listen to it.. It is heaven.

Twisted Love.

I went to get gas today and on the way this song was playing. The attendants looked at me very strange when I didn't put the windows or turn the music down when I pulled up because I did not want to miss a word of the lyrics.

I swear this will be the first song I sing in karaoke night. Anyone need a alto soloist for a rock band who does covers etc? Lemme know.

This takes either a very sick understanding (and experience) of love or true genius. Talk amongst yourselves now and let me be.

Ever changing taste in music - a.k.a. vaddafak?

Do you laugh at middle aged white man blasting rap music from their convertibles? Well, that's a bit out of the ordinary in İstanbul anyways, but it's the notion. I've always thought it was weird. Then I find myself listening to Eminem of all people (no, not because of the kids) and these days, enjoying SOAD and Steriogram immensely. As usual my brother thinks I'm nuts (and my taste in music stinks) yet the boys are pleasantly surprised. It must be a passing phase that goes along with my hair style - the "tamer" it looks, the "lamer" my music taste gets, the longer/wilder it is, the stranger.

Here's "Just Like You" - and the guy REALLY needs a haircut:

Speaking of hair, right now I hate my hairdresser for chopping 4 inches off my hair! I just wanted it to look healthy dammit!
